The Pocket Shala
The Pocket Shala is dedicated to the tradition of Ashtanga Yoga.
Ashtanga yoga is named after the term given in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras for the eight-fold path of yoga, or ashtanga, meaning “eight-limbed” in Sanskrit. Ashtanga yoga is a dynamic, flowing style that connects the movement of the body with the breath. The method stresses the importance of daily practice of a set series of movements.
Mothers Mysore:
Show up on Monday’s and Wednesday’s anytime between 10-12pm All are welcome mother or other.
The Ashtanga yoga system is a strong pranic medicine that purifies our system and taps us into our much needed source energy. After we give birth there can often be a drive to get back physically to our “pre-pregnancy” world. The truth is that our lives and bodies will forever be changed and I find this shift in reality truly a gift. In Mothers Mysore we honor the space in which we sit and learn to move and engage in a way that supports the stability of our pelvic floor while working methodically through the Ashtanga system of yoga at your own pace (with maybe a few research asanas thrown in). Little by little this practice will spread peace through our lives as we navigate motherhood. Pre-crawling babies welcome.
