Acupuncture & Cupping

Acupuncture is a powerful healing art that treats the source of the problem as opposed to the symptoms. Acupuncture is a method of healing through the system of meridians that run throughout the body. Meridians are a series of channels that monitor the organs and their functions. The Chinese call the energy that flows through your meridians “Qi.” The needles used in acupuncture enable the body to harness its own energy effectively, so that it can heal itself.

Herbal Medicine

Herbal formulas are prescribed to patients based on their needs and constitution. Herbs work through the acupuncture meridians to supplement areas of deficiency in the body. We use Evergreen Herbs which prides itself on leading the Chinese herbal community as an authoritative resource and innovator of the art and science of Chinese Medicine as a whole. From “seed to shelf,” Evergreen Herbs cultivate natural pureness.

Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga yoga is a dynamic, flowing style that connects the movement of the body with the breath. The method is a strong pranic medicine that purifies our systems and taps us into our much needed source energy. Ashtanga yoga is named after the term given in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras for the eight-fold path of yoga, or ashtanga, meaning “eight-limbed” in Sanskrit. Our yoga classes are traditional while allowing room to explore modern movement concepts.

The Pocket Shala is dedicated to the tradition of Ashtanga Yoga.
